We opened DesiLu’s Pet Boutique in Mukilteo to provide a clean, warm, and friendly environment where our neighbors could bathe their pets or have their pets groomed by dedicated professionals without worry.
“Desi” was our Maltese featured on our logo. As with nearly all Maltese, he didn’t know he was a dog; as far as he was concerned we belonged to him, and we never had the heart to tell him otherwise! Our love for Maltese dogs arose after we met “Lucy”, Desi’s cousin in Virginia. Thus, she is the “Lu” in DesiLu. Desi and Lucy are no longer with us, however, their pictures hang in tribute in our shop.
Our Groomers
Jennifer Kamin, our Senior Groomer, has been with DesiLu’s since the day we opened. Trained by Lori DeHoog, animal trainer and canine colorist for the movie industry, Jen’s work can be seen in the past Seattle-based TV show Frasier, and in the movies Benji, As Good as it Gets, Homeward Bound, and The Grinch, among others. Practicing her craft for more than 18 years, Jen enjoys a large, ever growing following of “best friends”.
